Important information regarding season ending
Dear members:
This unusual season is coming to an end and it’s time to think about getting ready for haul-outs and work days to close the harbour.
To that effect, there will be a work party day on Saturday October 3rd for various chores to be done on the grounds. This day will be coordinated by our Grounds Chairman, Mr. Gaétan Lapierre, and our goal will be to cut the grass and weeds around the cradles with weed eaters to ensure easier access during haul-outs. Branches along fences and around the harbour will also need to be cut. Mr. Lapierre is asking members, if possible, to bring their pruning shears and weed eaters.
The traditional harbour closing work party day will take place on Saturday October 31st.
We would like to remind you that your participation in work party days is essential to ensure the smooth running of the club, at the lowest cost possible.
Mr. Yvon Tessier will also be meeting with dock captains on October 3rd to review the organization for harbour closing. Mr. Tessier is inviting those who would be interested in taking on the responsibility for a dock to contact him at port@ipyc.ca.
The executive committee would also like to inform you that a new directive will be put in place starting this fall. This directive requires the unstepping of masts for all boats of less than 28 feet before haul-out. The committee has adopted this directive to facilitate haul-outs and avoid any damage to your rigging. Furthermore, the committee also strongly recommends the unstepping of masts for boats of over 28 feet.
We remind everyone of the importance of respecting the sanitary measures in place:
- wearing a mask is mandatory inside the clubhouse
- wearing a mask is mandatory on the grounds when the distancing of 2 meters cannot be respected
- avoid unnecessary gatherings
- wash hands frequently
Finally, you will find below the calendar of important dates until the end of the season and a link to click on with the haul-out schedules. Please consult these schedules to confirm your haul-out date and make sure your boat is ready by that date.
