Dismasting 2022

The end-of-season preparations are fast approaching. You will soon have to think about dismasting your sailboat.

In this regard, we are making available a presentation we’ve received from M. Claude Auger on Sunday Sept 25th. Take the time to read it carefully. It will help you achieve a safe and efficient dismasting.

In fact, I ask everyone to be well prepared when you come to the shear leg for your dismasting. Don’t hesitate to ask for help and to team up with other members who are dismasting on the same day. The more prepared you are, the more efficient and safe you will be and the less time you will take at the shear leg. The less time you take to the shear leg, the more grateful other members waiting their turn to dismast on the same day will be.

A booking sheet will be posted near the shear leg. I ask you to write your name on it. Reservations for the shear leg are made on a first come, first served basis. It is not possible to book a particular time for dismasting.

Following very pertinent comments from some members, I have rearranged the order in which the boats are taken out. With the exception of three members including myself, all other members will only have a change of exit order on the same day.

Amended schedules are posted on the noticeboard at the clubhouse.

If you are unable to attend on the day of your scheduled outing, please let me know as soon as possible.
