Passing of Jutta Hofmann

For the second time in a short while, we are writing to announce the death of a member of the Ile Perrot Yacht Club. It is with sadness that we learned that Mrs. Jutta Hofmann, Henry Hofmann’s wife, passed away on December 27th.

While everyone at the Club knows Henry who has been racing his Soling every week for decades, this is not necessarily the case for his wife, especially among the newest members, since illness had unfortunately kept Jutta away from the Club for the past seven years.

Henry and Jutta joined the Ile Perrot Yacht Club two years after its creation, in 1968. As far back as I can remember, Jutta has always been very involved with the Club to share her passion for sailing, but also as an outstanding organizer for our social activities.

But the memory that I particularly cherish of her is the attention she gave to all members, especially new members, so that they felt welcome and they knew they became part of a big family, the Ile Perrot Yacht Club family. She was a dedicated person and her goal was for the Club to be a family environment for all members and their children.

On behalf of all the members of the Club, I offer our most sincere condolences to Henry and his family.
